How interesting that in a representative republic we Americans are so prone to whine about the people we elect to represent us. As the bosses of our elected officials, we run this business called America like children with naughty parents, while we are the parents of children that are allowed to run free.
Do we admire the Americans who take the risk of opening businesses, hiring people, paying their medical, spending big bucks to market this business, spending long sleepless nights devising programs that make this business successful with the ability to raise wages for their employees? Do we guide our elected officials in how we want them to represent us and listen to what they have to say on the many, many items we know nothing about, or do we just complain to everyone else that 'they just don't do it right.' Americans stopped amnesty for illegal residents twice with public outrage. Were you one of the ones who participated, or do you just complain about it? Do you know who sets oil prices? Do you really think that we have the insight to tell any business what profit they should realize? What is the profit margin that the gas and oil companies realize after all of their overhead? Do we know or do we make angry guesses? For the people who complain about the price of gas, does it really cost anymore than in past years based on per capita income? We Americans set market value by purchasing what we want at any price. Is the economy really bad or just readjusting from spoiled Americans who don't have a clue about the difference between needs and wants, and feel that they are entitled to jobs, medical insurance, food, gas, cell phones, DVDs, flat back TVs, Disney vacations, free breakfast and lunch programs all without the hard work that it takes to have it all. Is it possible that taking from the hard workers to give to the lazy ones takes away from the truly needy? Yes, today I woke up mad, mad at Americans who spend so much time whining that they don't research the truth. And no, Internet blogs are not the truth. So we run this business called America into bankruptcy and socialism. Get off the blogs, America. Stop the whining and let us educate ourselves (since the school system doesn't) on the bills pending in the House and the Senate. What is the president doing today? Just enter “the Whitehouse” Web site and you will know.
Where is Condoleezza Rice? Enter 'The State Department' Web site and you will know more geography and current information than is imaginable. The Army has a Web site, too. Find out the truth about what's happening in Iraq. Do you know how many countries are in Iraq with us?
One more thing: the positive side of America needs to be talked about all the time, while working out the kinks that we created by neglect by not being involved in this business called America. All the news networks have e-mail, get busy telling them that we are sick and tired of the 'if it doesn't bleed, it isn't news' mentality.
Yes, I'm still mad, but now that I've whined to you, I feel better. Thanks.
